The Campus Mobile Crisis Response Team consists of staff from University Health Services (UHS). The team is currently staffed by Mental Health Clinicians and Mobile Health Technicians.

AJ Kaur Assistant Director of Crisis Response and Campus Mobile Crisis Response Program Manager

Amarjit Kaur is an LMFT, with over 15 years of experience in the mental health and education fields. She completed her undergraduate and graduate work at San Francisco State. Her experience includes working within non-profit organizations, K-12 Schools, and most recently as a Clinical Supervisor with San Francisco's Street Crisis Response. She is well-versed in program development and implementation, crisis intervention, and training. In her spare time, AJ often boxes and weigh lifts. Spending time with friends and family is often a highlight of her day or week. Traveling is now limited, but definitely a coveted activity. |

Tobirus Newby Assistant Director of Campus Outreach & Engagement Pronouns: he/they |
Tobirus M. Newby is a licensed clinical social worker and the Assistant Director of Campus Outreach & Engagement. Over the past 17 years, Tobirus has worked in the field of violence prevention and intervention by supporting the healing journeys of survivors and by educating and fostering change with those who have caused harm in their relationships and communities. In addition, he is an educator at UC Berkeley Extension and the University of San Francisco and has a private consulting practice through which he provides organizational equity and inclusion services. A quote that guides his life and his practice comes from James Baldwin: “Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced.” |

Aaron Cohen Training Coordinator, Campus Mobile Crisis Response Pronouns: he/him |
Aaron S. Cohen, PhD is a licensed psychologist. He worked at UC Berkeley from 1999-2023 retiring after almost 25 years on campus. He has rejoined the CMCR team to support hiring and training. He comes back to CMCR with 13 years of mobile crisis experience working with Alameda County Behavioral Health Care's Mobile Crisis Team in Oakland. During his years at UC Berkeley he has worked for the Disabled Students Program and CAPS. During Aaron's time at CAPS he has led the Residence life satellite office and acted as the Campus Crisis and Mental Health Training Coordinator. |

Leah Marie Cokias Student Coordinator, Campus Mobile Crisis Response Pronouns: she/her |
Leah is an undergraduate student at UC Berkeley (Class of 2027), double majoring in Psychology and Social Welfare. As a Peer Outreach Specialist, Leah presents to student organizations across campus to raise awareness about CMCR services and co-hosts outreach events in collaboration with other student groups. Passionate about mental health and community care, Leah plans to pursue a career in clinical psychology with the goal of working in a hospital. |
